Artistic Inquiry: Translational Projects

This is a 2 credit (30 CEUs) course!

You will have 180 days to complete this course.

Drama Therapy & Expressive Arts Therapy Translational Project Guidelines in Research or Ethics

For Alternate Route trainees who have already completed a three-credit, graduate-level Ethics or Research Methods class as part of their accredited clinical master’s program, it is no longer required that they take an additional 3 credits in drama or expressive arts therapy advanced electives. Instead, those trainees will (with the guidance of their Board-Certified Trainer or Expressive Arts Therapy Supervisor) undertake a Translational Project that integrates the core theories and concepts from their original master’s study with theories and concepts specific to drama or expressive arts therapy in one (or both) of these areas and applies them to practice.

Both the Research and the Ethics translational project represent roughly one credit’s worth EACH of coursework.

It consists of three components:

  • Part 1 - an Integration portion
  • Part 2 - an application portion
  • Part 3 - a letter portion

This course meets the requirements of 2 credits for both the Research AND Ethics Translational Projects as per required for the North American Drama Therapy Association in order to acquire your Registered Drama Therapy certificate, and Expressive Arts Therapy training program through the Center for Creative Arts Therapy.
