RESEARCH & ETHICS COURSE FOR DRAMA THERAPY & EXPRESSIVE ARTS THERAPY

Artistic Inquiry: Translational Projects

For Alternate Route trainees who have already completed a three-credit, graduate-level Ethics or Research Methods class as part of their accredited clinical master’s program, it is no longer required that they take an additional 3 credits in drama or expressive arts therapy advanced electives. Instead, those trainees will (with the guidance of their Board-Certified Trainer or Expressive Arts Therapy Supervisor) undertake a Translational Project that integrates the core theories and concepts from their original master’s study with theories and concepts specific to drama or expressive arts therapy in one (or both) of these areas and applies them to practice.

Both the Research and the Ethics translational project represent roughly one credit’s worth EACH of coursework.

It consists of three components:

  • Part 1 - an Integration portion
  • Part 2 - an application portion
  • Part 3 - a letter portion
